I have a bachelor's degree in music education from UNC-Wilmington. I played flute/piccolo in the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra for five years. I enjoy teaching flute and piano lessons and working in the arts and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in arts management in Washington, DC.
Notables
I was selected as UNCW's Richard R. Deas Concerto Competition winner and performed as a featured artist with the Wilmington Symphony in 2008. I was also selected to participate in 7 Honors Recitals during my undergraduate career. In my senior year, I was honored to serve as the William F. Adcock Scholar in music education for 2009-2010. Outside of the University, I played the flute in the Art of the Wedding Expo and in benefit events at the Bellamy Mansion. Additional performances included collaborations with the Forward Motion Dance Company and the Cameron Art Museum.
My interest in arts management emerged as an Artistic Operations Intern for the North Carolina Symphony in Raleigh, NC. Following this experience, I was selected to participate in the League of American Orchestras' Essentials of Orchestra Management seminar in New York in January 2011. I am now in my final semester of American University's arts management program at.
